BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — George Caras (So., Manhattan Beach, Calif./Mater Dei) of No. 11-ranked Princeton University secured 10 goals and 16 drawn ejections during the Tigers’ 3-3 California road trip to earn recognition as the October 25 Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Rookie of the Week.

Caras, who claims Rookie of the Week status as a sophomore due to the Tigers’ 2020 season being canceled by the COVID-19 pandemic, helped Princeotn versus No. 6 University of the Pacific (14-8 L) and No. 3 University of California (15-11 L) on October 18 and 20, respectively, prior to helping lead the Black & Orange’s offense during the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament hosted by San Jose State University and Santa Clara University.

During the Fraser Tournament, he helped Princeton take down Santa Clara (12-11 W) on Friday, October 22, before the Tigers faced No. 19 the United States Air Force Academy (11-10 W OT) and No. 9 San Jose State (11-7 L) on Saturday, October 23, along with Biola University (15-5 W) on Sunday, October 24, at San Jose State.

Among his achievements for the week, he posted a hat trick and three drawn ejections at California. Further, he racked up two tallies and four drawn ejections in helping top Santa Clara before ending the weekend with a hat trick in the defeat of Biola.
