PRINCETON, N.J.  – Jovana Sekulic (Jr., Belgrade, Serbia/The Episcopal Academy) helped the United States Women’s Water Polo Team secure a gold medal at the 2024 Pan American Games this week.

The United States defeated Argentina in the gold medal contest, 18-5, on Monday, November 25. Sekulic scored twice in the game while her teammates Emily Ausmus (MVP) and Amanda Longan (Top Goalkeeper of the tournament) were honored.

Sekulic and the United States opened up the tournament with a 20-9 victory on Argentina before following up with a 27-3 decision over Mexico and a 24-3 win over Columbia. After an 18-3 triumph over Brazil, the United States took down Venezuela, 23-1, to advance to the gold medal game.

Sekulic recorded 13 goals for the United States in the tournament highlighted by hat tricks by Venezuela, Mexico and Argentina. Earlier this year, Sekulic helped the United States to fourth place at the Olympics in Paris.
