BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Lindsey Lucas (So., Orinda, Calif./Miramonte) of No. 10-ranked Princeton University made five saves during an 11-6 loss to No. 3 the University of Hawaii in the 2024 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) quarterfinals at the University of California’s Spieker Aquatics Center on Friday, May 10. For her performance, she collects laurels as the May 13 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Defensive Player of the Week honor.
The honor marks the 20th weekly recognition of Lucas’ intercollegiate career. Last season, she claimed the January 30, February 27 and May 15 CWPA Division I Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week awards along with notice as the February 13, March 20, April 3 and April 10 Rookie and May 1 Defensive Player of the Week. She previously garnered Defensive Player of the Week status during the 2024 campaign by earning the February 12, February 19, March 4, March 18, April 1, April 8, April 15 and April 29 awards.
