BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Lindsey Lucas (Fr., Orinda, Calif./Miramonte) of No. 10-ranked Princeton University made 16 saves in the span of two games to anchor the Tigers to the 2023 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Championship and take the May 1 CWPA Division I Defensive Player of the Week award.

The honor marks her eighth of the season as she previously claimed the January 30 and February 28 CWPA Division I Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week awards along with notice as the February 13, April 3 and April 10 Defensive Player of the Week.

Competing at home in DeNunzio Pool, she made eight saves and limited Saint Francis University to one-for-seven shooting on man-up opportunities to key Princeton to an 8-3 in on Saturday, April 29, in the semifinals.  In the conference title game on Sunday, April 30, against No. 18 Harvard University, Lucas made eight saves and checked the Crimson to a two-for-six effort with an extra attacker during a 12-8 victory.

For her performance, Lucas earned All-Tournament Second Team honors and was recognized as the CWPA Championship Rookie of the Tournament.
