BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Lindsey Lucas (Fr., Orinda, Calif./Miramonte) of No. 7-ranked Princeton University contributed 50 saves over the span of four games during a perfect week to earn status as the April 3 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Defensive Player of the Week .

A six-time weekly honor recipient from the league office this season as she previously claimed the January 30 and February 28 CWPA Division I Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week awards along with notice as the February 13 Defensive Player of the Week, Lucas backstopped Princeton to victories over No. 16 Wagner College (15-12 W), Bucknell University (20-4 W), Saint Francis University (17-8 W) and defending league champion/No. 13 the University of Michigan (11-9 W) to acquire sole possession of first place in the league standings.

On Thursday, March 30, she turned aside 17 shots at home in DeNunzio Pool as the Tigers took down Wagner.

Facing Bucknell at Harvard University’s Blodgett Pool in Cambridge, Mass., on Saturday, April 1, she made 15 saves.  Later in the day at Brown’s Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center in Providence, R.I., she turned aside six shots to steel Princeton against Saint Francis.

On Sunday, April 2, she chipped in 12 saves as Princeton stopped Michigan at Brown in a potential preview of the league championship title game.
