BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalie Marissa Webb (Fr., Danville, Calif./San Ramon) made 26 saves over the span of three games at the 2018 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Championship hosted by Bucknell University to lead the No. No. 11-ranked Princeton University Tigers to a runner-up finish.  For her performance, she earns recognition as both the April 30 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Rookie and Defensive Player of the Week.

She opened the tournament on Friday, April 27, by stopping 12 shots in a 12-4 victory over No. 25 Harvard University.  Following 11 stops in a 10-8 semifinal defeat of No. 15 Indiana University on Saturday, April 28, she made three saves in an 11-8 title game loss to No. 9 University of Michigan on Sunday, April 29.

Following the conclusion of the tournament, Webb was named the events Rookie of the Tournament.

The award marks the fourth Defensive Player of the Week nod in Webb’s brief intercollegiate career as she previously earned the February 19, March 19 and April 9 accolades.  Further, she garners her second Rookie of the Week award after previously notching notice on April 9.
