BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalie Marissa Webb (Fr., Danville, Calif./San Ramon) made 38 saves over the span of four games to lead the No. 11-ranked Princeton University Tigers to a perfect 4-0 mark in league competition at Harvard University’s Blodgett Pool.  For her performance, she earns recognition as both the March 19 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Rookie and Defensive Player of the Week.

She opened the weekend in Cambridge, Mass., by stopping 11 shots in a 10-8 victory over No. 13 Indiana University prior to turning away two shots with a steal in limited minutes during a 15-7 defeat of Saint Francis University on Saturday, April 7.  On Sunday April 8, she stopped 10 shots with a steal in a 14-12 victory over No. 16 Hartwick College prior to saving 15 attempts in an 8-7 sudden death overtime win against No. 10 University of Michigan.

The award marks the third Defensive Player of the Week nod in Webb’s brief intercollegiate career as she previously earned the February 19 and March 19 accolades.  Further, she garners her inaugural Rookie of the Week award.
