BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Freshman Marissa Webb (Danville, Calif./San Ramon) of No. 22-ranked Princeton University registered 30 saves with 11 goals against, an assist and a steal in a 3-0 weekend for the Tigers against countable competition at home in DeNunzio Pool during the Princeton Invitational to take laurels as the February 19 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Defensive Player of the Week.

Webb opened the weekend with 14 saves and an assist in a 14-6 defeat of George Washington prior to making six saves with two goals against and a steal in 26:15 of playing time in a 13-5 victory over Iona College.

Facing Villanova, she swatted away 10 shots in downing the Wildcats, 13-3.  She wrapped up the weekend with seven saves in a 10-6 exhibition loss to the Chinese National Team.

The award marks the inaugural weekly honor bestowed on Webb.
