BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Roko Pozaric (Fr., Zagreb, Croatia/Gimnazija Titusa Brezovackog) of No. 12-ranked Princeton University produced a team-best 11 goals on 19 shots, six assists nine steals, four ejections drawn and nine sprint victories during a 3-1 weekend for the Tigers at the season-opening Navy Open hosted by the United States Naval Academy.  For his performance, he claims recognition as the September 6 Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Player of the Week and shares notice as the Rookie of the Week award with Andrej Basica (Fr., Belgrade, Serbia/Third Belgrade Grammar School) of No. 18 Harvard University.

A member of the squad which claimed the Senior Croatian Cup in back-to-back years and was second the year prior, he was previously part of the team that finished second at the Dubrovnik Junior Croatian Championship three times, Pozaric started his intercollegiate career in style on Saturday, September 4, by racking up four goals and three assists in a 21-10 defeat of Mount St. Mary’s University.  Following a one goal, three assist performance in a 12-5 victory over George Washington University to close out the first date of competition, he returned to the pool on Sunday, September 5 to rack-up three goals in a narrow 11-9 loss to No. 3 the University of California.  Later in the day, he chipped in three goals and an assist in a 17-2 defeat of Division III No. 6 Johns Hopkins University.
