PRINCETON, N.J — Princeton University goalkeeper Sophie Bollyky Purcell (So., New York, N.Y./The Chapin School) will play for Germany in the U20 Women’s European Water Polo Championship in Oeiras, Portugal on August 1-7.
Germany is in Division II and Group C with Malta and Russia. Should Germany win its group, it will advance to the crossover stage with the third and fourth place finishers in the first division along with groups A and B. If Germany moves on from the crossover stage, it will reach the knockout round.
Bollyky Purcell played in nine games for Princeton in 2026, recording a 2-0 record and a .610 save percentage. Her first collegiate win came on February 21 versus Mercyhurst University, while her season high of 12 saves came against Long Island University on February 28.
