BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalkeeper West Temkin (So., Alamo, Calif./Campolindo) of No. 5 Princeton University collected three wins at home in DeNunzio Pool during the 2023 Princeton Invitational to corral September 11 Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Defensive Player of the Week status.
The award marks the sixth weekly honor bestowed on Temkin following prior Rookie (October 17, October 31, November 28) and Defensive Player (October 3, November 28) laurels last season.
He turned aside eight shots in a 15-7 defeat of No. 11 California Baptist University on Friday, September 8, prior to stopping seven scoring chances in a 15-7 management of No. 20 Santa Clara University on Saturday, September 9. On Sunday, September 10, Temkin racked up seven saves in a 17-8 handling of Division III No. 4 Chapman University.
