LORETTO, Pa. — The Saint Francis University water polo team added another goalkeeper for the 2019-2020 academic year with the addition of walk-on Haley Sanko.
Sanko hails from McAdoo, Pennsylvania, where she played goalie for the Hazelton Area High School team. If the last name sounds familiar to Red Flash fans; it should be since her sister Shelby Sanko previously played for the Saint Francis water polo team.
The team captain goalie recorded 454 saves and 132 steals during to go along with Second Team All-State honors.
“We are very excited that Haley is joining our Red Flash Family,” stated head coach Jay O’Neill. “Her work ethic and tenacity are exactly what we look for in recruits. We are excited to see her transition to the college game.”
