BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Caylah Olay (Fr., Redondo Beach, Calif./Redondo Union) of Saint Francis University tallied eight goals over the span of four goals at Harvard University to lead the Red Flash at the 2023 Bruno Classic hosted by Brown University and Harvard. For her efforts, Olay claims recognition as the February 6 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Rookie of the Week.
She opened the weekend on Saturday, February 4, at Harvard’s Blodgett Pool with a pair of markers in a 9-6 loss to La Salle University prior to being held off the scoreboard during a 22-4 defeat by No. 14 Wagner College. On Sunday, February 5 she capped off the trip to Cambridge, Mass., by firing in four shots over the span of a 14-12 overtime loss to Division III No. 1 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges. In SFU’s final contest of the weekend, she put away a pair of chances to aid the Red Flash’s cause in a 10-9 victory over Santa Clara University.
