BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Marialena Seletopoulou (Fr., Glyfada, Athens, Greece/Yannopoulos School) of Saint Francis University posted 13 goals, four assists, five drawn ejections and seven steals in a quartet of victories at the Claremont Convergence to take the March 5 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Rookie of the Week award.

She opened the weekend by posting eight goals, two assists, four drawn ejections and three steals in a 13-7 victory over Division III No. 3-ranked Whittier College prior to notching a pair of goals in a 9-2 defeat of Division III No. 8 Occidental College on Friday, March 2.

Facing Division III No. 5 Chapman University, she turned in a goal with two assists, an ejection drawn and a pair of steals in an 8-4 win on Saturday, March 3.  Seletopoulou wrapped up the weekend with two goals in a 12-2 upending of the California Institute of Technology.

The award marks her fourth weekly nod in less than a month as she previously shared the February 12 Rookie of the Week award with George Washington University’s Alana Ponce (Fr., Gig Harbor, Wash./Gig Harbor) and Dara Bleiberg (Fr., Simi Valley, Calif./Royal) prior to earning sole custody of the February 19 Player and Rookie of the Week honors.
