BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalie Rosalinda Rivera (Jr., Hatfield, Pa./North Penn) recorded a pair of victories along with 21 saves and a steal in 75 minutes of action to garner recognition as the February 8 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Defensive Player of the Week.

Competing at the 2021 season-opening Hoosier Invite hosted by Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., Rivera picked up victories in defeats of Salem University (12-8 W OT, 12-7 W) and a loss versus No. 13-ranked Indiana University (16-2 L) to help the Red Flash open the season with a 2-2 mark.

On Saturday, February 6, she allowed three goals to go along with a save and a steal in 19:26 of action to earn a 12-8 overtime victory against Salem.  She added eight saves in 26:59 with 11 goals allowed in a 16-2 loss to the host Hoosiers during the evening.

Rivera capped off the weekend on Sunday, September 7, by turning aside 12 shots with five goals allowed in 29:16 of action to garner a 12-7 defeat of Salem.  She did not appear in SFU’s 17-8 concluding loss to Indiana later in the day.
