ERIE, Pa. — The Salem University men’s water polo team split two matches at Penn State Behrend with a win against McKendree University. 13-9, and a loss versus Gannon University, 18-12.

With the split, the Tigers record moves to 5-9.

In the first contest, Salem defeated McKendree in a rematch of an earlier 15-14 loss to the Bearcats at home in Salem, W.Va.

The Tigers were led by junior Milos Popovic who notched four goals, while sophomore Petar Leontijevic added in three goals.

Sophomore Michael Rojas and freshman Austin Kephart generated two goals, whereas junior Robert Juhas and classmate Salvador Orozco each netted one goal.

Senior Mateo Kozomara had an impressive match with 12 saves.

Facing Gannon, the Tigers fell to in a back-and-forth game to the Golden Knights.

Salem was led by senior Inigo Velasco who netted a team-high three goals, while Leontijevic and Popovic each produced two goals.

Juhas, freshman Mike Diaz, sophomore Uros Jevtic and Rojas scored one goal each.
