GROVE CITY, Pa. — The Penn State Behrend women’s water polo team fell 28-5 to Salem University on the first day of the Grove City Invitational hosted by Grove City College.
The Behrend Lions scored three goals in the first quarter and then did not score again until the fourth quarter
Shannon Young (Roseville, Calif./Roseville) tallied two goals and one drawn kickout, while Nic Darrell (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) posted two steals, one goal and one assist.
Goalie Julie de Deus (Pembroke Pines, Fla./Pembroke Pines Charter) made five saves in taking the loss.
Freshman Darragh Martin (Green Lane, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) scored her first collegiate goal for the Lions, while Susie Carrillo (Fresno, Calif./Clovis North Educational Center) tallied two assists and one steal.
