BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Salem University’s Nikola Krstonosic (Fr., Serbia) posted 17 goals, two assists, five steals and five earned ejections during a 1-3 weekend for the Tigers at the season-opening Navy Open hosted by the United States Naval Academy.  For his performance, Krstonosic is named the September 6 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Rookie of the Week.

He opened his intercollegiate career on Saturday, September 4, by posting four goals in a 12-10 loss to Division III No. 6-ranked Johns Hopkins University prior to racking up three goals with a steal in a 16-6 loss to the Midshipmen of the Naval Academy.

On Sunday, September 5, he reeled off seven goals, an assist, a steal and four ejections drawn in a 14-13 win over Mount St. Mary’s University prior to chipping in three goals, an assist, three steals and an ejection drawn in a 15-10 defeat by No 16 Bucknell University.
