BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Reed Bearden (Fr., Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc), Alexander Cappuccio (Sr., Havre de Grace, Md./Calvert Hall), Mathieu Davis (So., Montego Bay, Jamaica/Wolmers’ Boys’ School), Michael Gutman (So., Columbus, Ohio/Saint Charles Prep), Dylan Shaffer (Jr., Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif./Tesoro), Daniel Alvarez (Sr., Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago) and Jonathan Merkley (Jr., Portland, Ore./David Douglas) of the Mercyhurst University men’s water polo received 2020 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Scholar-Athlete honors.

A student-athlete must maintain a 3.25 cumulative GPA or better to be named a PSAC Scholar-Athlete.

A total of 407 Mercyhurst student-athletes garnered recognition during the academic year as a new record of 3,762 PSAC student-athletes received Scholar-Athlete recognition, surpassing the previous record of 3,117 set last season.
