BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY – St. Francis College Brooklyn men’s water polo head coach Bora Dimitrov has revealed the Terriers’ 2019 schedule. St. Francis has scheduled 29 regular season contests with a total of 19 non-conference matches and 10 Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) matchups on the docket.

“I’m truly looking forward to our 2019 season. Our schedule is pretty much full, and we have more games than last year. This will be the key for our team, and we plan to use every single game to develop, learn, and grow. I am very excited to see our newcomers in action, and I hope that with the good work and proper mindset this season we can go a step further,” said coach Dimitrov while discussing his 2019 slate.

The Terriers begin the season at the Bruno Invitational hosted by Brown University in Providence, R.I. St. Francis’ first match is against California Baptist University on Saturday, September 7, at 1:45 p.m. The Terriers second contest of the day on September 7, comes against McKendree Univeristy at 5:30 p.m. St. Francis concludes the first non-conference tournament of the year on Sunday, September 8, with a pair of matches. The Terriers first take on local foe Wagner College at 8:30 a.m., they then go head-to-head with Bucknell University at 1:45 p.m.

St. Francis is slated to compete in four additional non-conference tournaments this season. Following the Bruno Invitational, the Terriers head to the Tiger Invitational (September 13-15) hosted by Princeton University in Princeton, N.J. St. Francis continues play at the Bison Invitational (Sep. 21-22) hosted by Bucknell in Lewisburg, Pa.

Following five-straight conference matches, the Terriers resume tournament play at the Crimson Invitational (October 19-20) at Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass. The final non-conference tournament of the season takes place on the West Coast as the Terriers travel to the Bronco Invitational (Oct. 25-27) hosted by Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, Calif.

NWPC league play commences on Wednesday, October 2, when St. Francis travels to in-state foe Iona College for a 7:30 p.m. start. Following the meeting with the Gaels, the Terriers host four consecutive conference matches at the SFC Aquatic Center.

The first home conference matchup of the season is on Saturday, October 5, against the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) at Noon. Later that day, the Terriers go head-to-head with Brown at 5:00 p.m. On Sunday, October 6, St. Francis battles Harvard at 10:00 a.m. The Terriers wrap up their four-game homestand on Saturday, October 12, when they square off with the reigning NWPC Champion Tigers of Princeton at 5:00 p.m. St. Francis will honor its seniors before its final home match of the season on Wednesday, October 30, against Iona at 7:30 p.m.

The Terriers’ final four matches of the season take place on the road. On Saturday, November 2, St. Francis heads back to Cambridge, Mass. for two matchups. The first match of the day comes at MIT at 5:00 p.m. The second contest is at Harvard and commences at 9:00 p.m. The Terriers face Brown on Sunday, November 3, at 10:00 a.m. in Providence, RI and then conclude the regular season at Princeton on Saturday, November 9, with a Noon start.

The 2019 NWPC Tournament hosted by MIT will be held on November 22-24 and features all six teams from the league.
