LEWISBURG, Pa. — Bucknell University announced the addition of transfer Ioannis Egnatiadis (So., Athens Greece/2nd Lyceum of Vrilissia) from St. Francis Brooklyn. He joins the three players from head doach John McBride‘s recruiting class as newcomers for the upcoming 2023 season.

An attacker, Egnatiadis joins the Bison from the Terriers as the New York institution announced the disbanding of the institution’s Division I athletic teams, necessitating Egnatiadis’ departure. He will be entering his sophomore season in Lewisburg during the Fall 2023 semester.

A native of Athens, Greece, he played his scholastic water polo at the Second Lyceum of Vrilissia. Panathinaikos, his club team, won several first-place titles in the Greek league. Egnatiadis and team success go hand-in-hand. His teams won first and second place in the Greek Division II League.  His squad placed first at the U15 European Championship, and in the U17 competition, they finished fourth.

During his single season at St. Francis Brooklyn, the team finished 21-10 and dropped a 13-8 decision to Princeton University in the Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) title game.
