BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Avery Davis (Sr., Jersey Village, Texas/Jersey Village) of No. 12-ranked Texas A&M University “A” registered five goals, six assists and six steals during a 3-0 weekend for the Aggies to help the squad capture the Women’s Collegiate Club Texas Division Championship. For her efforts, Davis is named the March 31 Women’s Collegiate Club Texas Division co-Player of the Week.
She shares the award with Maya Nanayakkara (Jr., Dallas, Texas/Marcus) of Texas Division runner-up the University of Texas “A”.
Competing at Rice University in Houston, Texas, Texas A&M “A” topped Baylor University by a 22-1 score as Davis scored twice in the second quarter. She scored again against Texas A&M “B” in a 16-4 win recorded as a 5-0 forfeit prior to tallying a marker in the second quarter during a 9-5 victory versus Texas “A” for the division championship.
