BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) looks back at the 2006 Eastern Championship title game pitting the host Tigers of Princeton University versus the United States Naval Academy Midshipmen.
Navy claimed the win by a 9-6 final score as the Midshipmen claimed their inaugural National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship tournament berth since the 2003 season. Further, it marked Navy’s 12th appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Michael Mulvey led the way with three goals for the Mids, while Aaron Recko and Bram Arnold tallied a pair of goals.
Andrew Plumb and Eric Gardiner scored one goal each. George Naughton made 11 saves in goal. Recko was named the CWPA Eastern Championship Most Valuable Player.
