ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Association of Collegiate Water Polo Association (ACWPC) All-America selection/United States Naval Academy rising junior Kiefer Black (San Diego, Calif./La Jolla) discussed his water polo career in Annapolis and expectations for the 2025 Midshipmen in a Navy Sports Magazine interview.
A two-time ACWPC Honorable Mention All-America selection (2023, 2024), the two-time Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) First Team All-Conference and MAWPC Championship All-Tournament First Team honoree, Black has 162 goals, 134 assists, 296 points, 64 steals and 56 ejections drawn over the span of 58 games during his first two seasons in Annapolis.
The 2023 MAWPC Rookie and MAWPC Championship Rookie of the Tournament, he helped Midshipmen post a 21-6 record with a runner-up finish at the MAWPC Championship as a freshman by tallying 68 goals, 57 assists, 33 steals and 24 ejections drawn in 26 games.
In 2024, he racked up 94 goals, 77 assists, 31 steals and 32 ejections drawn in 32 games as the Blue & Gold concluded a 22-10 campaign with another runner-up finish at the MAWPC Championship.
