BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalie Caden Capobianco (So., Laguna Beach, Calif./Laguna Beach) of the United States Naval Academy tallied 22 saves with two steals and 11 goals allowed in helping the Midshipmen to victories over Brown University and Iona College at the 2021 Princeton University Invitational.  For his performance, Capobianco is named the September 13 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Defensive Player of the Week.

A two-time weekly honor recipient after previously claiming a nod as the February 23 MAWPC Rookie of the Week during the 2020-21 season, he posted 10 saves, a pair of steals and seven goals allowed on Saturday, September 11, in an 11-7 victory over Brown University.  The win marked the first team Navy defeated the Bears since a 10-9 sudden death overtime win on September 13, 2014 in Providence, R.I.

On Sunday, September 12, Capobianco worked the second half of a 12-7 defeat of Iona.  He finished the game with 12 saves and four goals allowed.

For the year, he has 44 saves and 10 steals in five games.
