BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Isaac Salinas (So., Spring City, Pa./Malvern Prep) of the United States Naval Academy led the Midshpmen with 19 goals during a 4-1 trip to California  – including a hat-trick in all five games – in claiming recognition as the October 7 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Player of the Week.

Competing at the Gary Troyer Memorial Tournament, he opened the weekend with a team-best five goals in a 13-12 victory over the United States Air Force Academy. Tied 12-12 with Air Force, Salinas scored the game-winning goal with just under a minute to play.

The sophomore added a team-high three goals against Division III No. 4-ranked Chapman University to help the Mids to a 19-11 win. Salinas continued his hot play with a team-high three goals against Division III No. 6 University of Redlands and five goals versus Concordia University to lead Navy to a pair of 13-11 victories.

He concluded the trip by notching three of Navy’s nine goals in a 16-9 loss at No. 11 Loyola Marymount University.

The award marks his fifth weekly honor from the league office following four Rookie of the Week nods (September 3, September 17, October 1, November 5) during the 2018 season.
