BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Kiefer Black (Fr., San Diego, Calif./La Jolla) of No. 19-ranked the United States Naval Academy steered the Midshipmen to a 3-0 week – including a pair of conference wins – with 12 points off eight goals and four assists to earn recognition as the October 9 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Player of the Week.

A three-time weekly award recipient from the league office after previously claiming notice as the September 25 MAWPC Rookie of the Week and October 2 Player of the Week, he added seven steals as Navy downed Division III No. 7 Johns Hopkins University (19-10 W) and Connecticut College (19-6 W) at home in Annapolis, Md., prior to besting Bucknell University (14-12 W) in Lewisburg, Pa.

On Friday, October 6, he scored a team high five goals with an assist and six steals in stopping MAWPC foe Johns Hopkins. 

After sitting out the Connecticut College contest on Saturday, October 7, he returned to the water on Sunday, October 8, at Bucknell to punch in three goals with three assists in wrangling the Bison in another MAWPC clash.
