BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Will Clark (Fr., Laguna Beach, Calif./Laguna Beach) of the United States Naval Academy tallied 12 points, including seven goals and five assists, during a 4-1 weekend in California to earn recognition as the October 7 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Rookie of the Week.

He recorded a pair of hat tricks over the weekend – the first of his career. Clark opened the weekend with a team-best two assists in Navy’s 13-12 victory over the United States Air Force Academy at the Gary Troyer Memorial Tournament. The freshman scored a team-high three goals against Division III No. 4-ranked Chapman University while adding an assist for four points in a 19-11 win. Clark notched a team-high three goals against Division III No. 6 University of Redlands in a 13-11 victory, while leading the team with two assists to help defeat Concordia University by a 13-11 count.

He finished the weekend by scoring a goal at No. 11 Loyola Marymount University in a 16-9 loss.

The award marks the first weekly honor for Clark from the league office.
