BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Matthew Cook (Sr., Huntington Beach, Calif./Huntington Beach) of the University of Arizona scored 17 goals, including 12 versus the University of San Diego, during the division championship tournament to earn honors as the October 30 Men’s Collegiate Club Southwest Division Player of the Week.
He struck for 12 goals in a 25-15 defeat of San Diego prior to helping the Wildcats down host the University of California-San Diego to punch Arizona’s ticket to the 2017 Men’s Southwest Division Championship title game.
The Wildcats finished second at the tournament as Arizona fell to San Diego State University by a 10-5 score in the championship game.
