BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Alexander Furlong (Jr., San Clemente, Calif./San Clemente) of the University of California-Irvine recorded 38 saves with four steals in the span of 95 minutes during a 1-3 weekend at home in Crawford Pool for the Anteaters at the second Southwest Division regular season tournament. For his performance, he garners accolades as the October 16 Men’s Collegiate Club Southwest Division Player of the Week.
UC-Irvine, which earned the Fifth Seed for the upcoming Southwest Division Championship at the University of California-San Diego on Saturday-Sunday, October 28-29, fell to Arizona State University (5-2 L), the University of Arizona (10-3 L) and UC-San Diego (8-3 L) with a defeat of the University of San Diego (9-4 W) last week.
