BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Maddy Steere (So., Pascoe Vale, Australia/St. Catherine’s School) of No. 9-ranked the University of Michigan posted a hat-trick with three goals in a 13-6 loss to No. 3 University of California on Friday, May 11, in the quarterfinals of the 2018 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship hosted by the University of Southern California (USC). For her performance, Steere is named the May 14 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Player of the Week.
Her selection bookends the 2018 season as she previously earned recognition as the Player of the Week following the opening weekend of competition on January 22.
Overall, it marks Steere’s third weekly honor from the league office as she received notice as the March 20 Rookie of the Week in 2017.
