BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Marisa Purcell (Gr., Manhattan Beach, Calif./Mira Costa) of the University of California-Los Angeles “A” scored 17 goals in three games during the opening weekend of league action hosted by the University of California-Santa Barbara to claim status as the February 4 Women’s Collegiate Club Pacific Coast Division Player of the Week.

A former collegiate club player as an undergraduate at the University of California and an assistant coach of the varsity Marist College women’s water polo team during the 2018 season, Purcell returned to the club ranks to tally five goals against California Polytechnic State University “B” (13-2 W), seven markers versus the University of Southern California (19-3 W) and five more in an 8-3 defeat of 2018 Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship runner-up Cal Poly “A”.

UCLA “A” finished with the weekend with a 5-0 record as the team also garnered 5-0 forfeit wins against Long Beach State University and UCLA “B”.
