BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) women’s collegiate club water polo team was named the Team of the Year at the 2019 UCLA Club Sports Banquet.   In addition, head coach MacGregor “Mac” Sanford, a 2005 graduate and past varsity men’s water polo player at Johns Hopkins University, was recognized as the UCLA Coach of the Year.

MacGregor and the Bruins rolled to an 11-1 overall record, including a 9-1 mark in Pacific Coast Division competition, as UCLA claimed the Pacific Coast Division regular season title prior to placing second at the division championship via a 4-2 loss to California Polytechnic State University at home in the Spieker Aquatic Center.  Overall, UCLA finished the year ranked at No. 5 in the final 2019 Women’s National Collegiate Club Top 20 Poll.
