BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Cecilia Sommerfield (Jr., Mercer Island, Wash./Mercer Island) of No. 1-ranked the University of California-San Diego “A” team racked up nine goals, four assists, five steals, a field block, a five-meter penalty shot drawn and three ejections drawn during a 4-0 weekend for the Tritons to claim status as the February 3 Women’s Collegiate Club Southwest Division Player of the Week.
Competing at San Diego State University, the UC-San Diego “A” team commenced division play by stopping San Diego State “A” (14-12 W), San Diego State “B” (22-6 W), Arizona State University (13-7 W) and the University of Arizona (18-4 W) during an undefeated weekend.
