BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Luke Shropshire (So., Ellicott City, Md./Loyola Blakefield) registered 14 goals to key the University of Colorado to the Rocky Mountain Division Championship at the Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center in Thornton, Colo. For his performance, Shropshire is recognized as the October 30 Rocky Mountain Division Player of the Week.
Colorado “A” – which finished the regular season with an 8-0 mark in division competition to garner the No. 1 seed at the championship – opened the even with a 21-1 defeat of the Colorado School of Mines on Saturday, October 28, keyed by four goals from Shropshire. He tacked on a hat-trick with three strikes in a 22-4 dispatching of Colorado State University to cap off the opening day of competition and advance the Buffaloes to the Rocky Mountain Division title game.
Facing the University of Utah on Sunday, October 29, with the division crown on the line, he overwhelmed the Utes by accounting for seven goals in a 14-9 win to help Colorado clinch the division’s championship and a berth into the 2023 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship field.
