BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The University of Connecticut’s Jack Bialek (Jr., Westport, Conn./Staples) compiled 16 goals, two assists, seven steals and five field blocks during a 4-0 run by the Huskies during the regular season finale weekend at Williams College in Williamstown, Mass. The victories allowed his team to clinch the No. 1 seed for the Colonial/North Atlantic Divisions “A” Championship on Saturday-Sunday, October 21-22, at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, and earn Bialek status as the October 16 Men’s Collegiate Club Colonial Division co-Player of the Week.
He shares Player of the Week honors with Ashvath Balgovind (Gr., Fremont, Calif./Mission San Jose) of the University of Massachusetts who scored 20 goals with two assists, 12 steals and seven field blocks during a 3-1 weekend for the Minutemen to earn the Colonial Division No. 2 seed for the Colonial/North Atlantic “A” Championship.
A transfer student from UConn-Stamford studying Political Science, he powered Connecticut to victories over Worcester Polytechnic Institute (15-5 W), Amherst College (24-18 W), Wesleyan University (10-3 W) and finally the Minutemen of UMass (19-11 W) to cap off a 7-1 regular season campaign for the Huskies.
