LA VERNE, Calif. — The University of La Verne, a member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) seeks an interim head men’s and women’s water polo coach.

This temporary appointment is a 100& full-time equivalent position with hours during early mornings, nights, weekends and some holidays required.

The interim head men’s and women’s water polo coach will plan, organize, direct and evaluate all phases of highly competitive intercollegiate water polo programs at the University of La Verne in accordance and compliance with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), SCIAC and the University of La Verne’s policies and regulations; understanding the role of Division III athletics in the educational process and while recruiting quality student-athletes. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading water polo practices and competitions, evaluating individual and team performances, teaching proper techniques, and motivating players to achieve optimal results, while ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and ethical sport standards including developing game strategies, scouting opponents and managing team dynamics.

Minimum Qualifications:  A minimum of six years of athletic experience at the college or university level as either an athlete or athletic department staff member/coach.

Preferred Qualifications: A minimum of three years demonstrated successful coaching and recruiting experience at the college or university level.
