BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Current University of Michigan athlete Isabelle Jackson (So., Auckland, New Zealand/Diocesan Schools for Girls) and former Hartwick College standout Katie McKenty ’18 were named to the New Zealand roster for the upcoming 2024 World Aquatics Women’s Water Polo Championship on February 2-18 in Doha, Qatar.
New Zealand will compete in Pool C at the event against Singapore, Hungary and Australia. Action begins on Sunday, February 4, as New Zealand faces Hungary at 7:00 a.m. Eastern. New Zealand will conclude Pool C competition with games versus Australia (Tuesday, February 6, 2:30 a.m. Eastern) and Singapore (Thursday, February 8, 1:00 a.m. Eastern).

A native of Auckland, New Zealand and a graduate of the Takapuna Grammar School who aided her homeland to an 11th place finish at the 20th World Aquatics Championships hosted in Fukuoka, Japan, back in July 2023, McKenty competed for Hartwick during the 2015-18 seasons and compiled 119 goals, 180 assists and 149 steals during her four-year tenure in New York. During her time at Hartwick, the Hawks totaled a record of 90-54 including Third (2015, 2017, 2018) and Fourth (2016) Place finishes at the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Championship.
A reserve for New Zealand at the 2022 FINA World Championships, Jackson will seek to make an impression on the international stage following a freshman season in Ann Arbor, Mich., in which she netted 19 goals, eight assists, five drawn exclusions and 50 steals in 30 games.
