BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Kata Utassy (Fr., Budapest, Hungary/Konyves Kalman Secondary School) scored five goals with an assist and two steals during a 1-3 weekend for No. 6-ranked the University of Michigan at the Arizona State University Invitational to receive the March 1 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Rookie of the Week award.
A first-time weekly honoree from the league office, Utassy opened the week on Friday, February 26, by scoring once and dishing out an assist in a 12-10 upset of the host/No. 4 Sun Devils. On Saturday, February 27, she chipped in a goal versus No. 1 the University of Southern California in a 10-6 defeat.
Utassy concluded the four-game stretch in Tempe, Arizona, on Sunday, February 28, by notching a hat-trick in a 13-7 loss to USC prior to grabbing a pair of steals in a 7-4 setback against Arizona State.
