ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The Big Ten Conference office released its Spring 2021 Academic All-Big Ten Team with a record 237 University of Michigan student-athletes – including 16 women’s water polo players – earning recognition for their work in the classroom.

Criteria for making the Academic All-Big Ten team includes being in at least their second academic year at their institution and maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

The breakdown of the 237 Michigan student-athletes on the list is 19 from baseball, five from men’s golf, seven from women’s golf, 32 from men’s lacrosse, 23 from women’s lacrosse, 49 from rowing, 12 from softball, nine from men’s tennis, four from women’s tennis, 26 from men’s track and field, 35 from women’s track and field and 16 from water polo.
