BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Abby Andrews (Fr., Indooroopilly, Australia/Brisbane Girl’s Grammar School) of No. 8-ranked the University of Michigan contributed five goals and six assists during a 1-2 weekend for the Wolverines against nationally-ranked competition at the Stanford University Invitational to earn honors as the February 4 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Rookie of the Week.
She opened the weekend with an assist against the host/No. 2 Cardinal prior to putting away a goal with three assists in a 12-11 loss to No. 13 University of California-Davis. Following a 22-10 loss to the national team of China, Andrews returned to the pool to notch four goals, two assists and a steal in an 11-9 victory over No. 8 University of the Pacific.
The award marks her second Rookie of the Week nod in three weeks as she previously garnered the January 21 honor.
