BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalkeeper Alex Brown (Gr., Clayton, Calif./Carondelet) of No. 11-ranked the University of Michigan made 31 saves over the span of three games at Fresno State University’s Polo-Palooza on Saturday-Sunday, January 20-21, to garner recognition as the January 22 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Defensive Player of the Week.

An eight-time Defensive Player of the Week selection with previous recognition in 2021 (March 22), 2022 (February 14, March 7) and 2023 (January 16, January 23, March 6, April 17), she aided the Wolverines’ cause versus No. 4 the University of Hawaii (14-11 L OT) and host/No. 5 Fresno State (11-10 L) on Saturday, January 20.  She accounted for 17 saves and a pair of steals against the Rainbow Wahine prior to stopping four shots with a trio of steals against the host Bulldogs.

Facing No. 3 the University of California (16-7 L) on Sunday, January 21, she stopped 10 shots.
