BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalkeeper Alex Brown (Sr., Clayton, Calif./Carondelet) of No. 12-ranked the University of Michigan made 30 saves and dished out four assists in 80 minutes at home during the 2023 Wolverine Invitational to earn status as the March 6 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Defensive Player of the Week.

A six-time Defensive Player of the Week selection with previous recognition in 2021 (March 22), 2022 (February 14, March 7) and 2023 (January 16, January 23), Brown opened the weekend on Saturday, March 4, by stopping five shots and allowing two goals in 16 minutes of work during an 18-2 defeat of Salem University.  She posted her best contest of the weekend later in the day by turning aside 14 shots and dishing out an assist in a 9-4 management of No. 20 San Jose State University.

On Sunday, March 5, she did not competing during a 16-3 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) win versus Bucknell University, but returned to the water in the weekend finale to post 11 saves with a trio of assists in a 19-5 victory over Saint Francis University in CWPA action.
