BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalie Alex Brown (Jr., Clayton, Calif./Carondelet) of No. 7-ranked the University of Michigan recorded 16 saves with eight goals allowed in 64 minutes over the span of four matches at home in Canham Natatorium during the 2022 Wolverine Invitational.  For her performance, she is named the March 7 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Defensive Player of the Week.

A three-time Defensive Player of the Week selection following previous recognition on March 22, 2021 and February 14, 2022, Brown opened the weekend with two saves and four goals allowed in 16 minutes during a 17-6 defeat of Iona College on Saturday, March 5.  Later in the day, she stopped four shots and allowed one goal in 16 minutes as the Wolverines turned back Bucknell University, 14-4, in CWPA competition.

On Sunday, March 6, she posted six saves, an assist, a steal and one goal allowed in 16 minutes of a 19-1 league defeat of Saint Francis University. 

In the weekend finale, she turned aside four shots and permitted a pair of tallies as the Maize & Blue managed Salem University, 16-4.
