BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Anne Rankin (Fr., Newport Beach, Calif./Newport Beach) of No. 7-ranked the University of Michigan racked up seven goals, two assists and three steals for the Maize & Blue at home during a 4-0 weekend at the Wolverine Invitational to earn status as the March 2 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Rookie of the Week.
A three-time Rookie of the Week selection after previously garnering recognition on January 20 and February 24, she helped the Wolverines dominate Santa Clara University (15-3 W), No. 15 Long Beach State University (12-9 W), Iona College (14-6 W) and No. 22 Bucknell University (15-6 W) at home in Canham Natatorium.
She opened the weekend on Saturday, February 29, by netting two goals and an assist versus Santa Clara prior to repeating the feat and tacking on a pair of steals against Long Beach State.
On Sunday, March 1, she connected for a goal with a steal to help down Iona before drilling in a pair of markers in turning back Bucknell.
