BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Erin Neustrom (Jr., Moraga, Calif./Campolindo) of No. 7-ranked the University of Michigan netted six goals and a pair of assists as the Wolverines downed Mount St. Mary’s University (16-0 W) and No. 20 Bucknell University (12-5 W) to win the program’s 10th overall and fifth consecutive Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Championship.  For her performance, she claims laurels as the April 26 CWPA Division I Player of the Week.

A three-time weekly honor recipient from the league office after garnering previous Rookie of the Week (April 15, 2019) and Player of the Week (February 24, 2021) honors, she led Michigan in both games at home during the 2021 CWPA Championship on Saturday, April 24, by netting hat-tricks versus both the Mountaineers and Bison.

In the day’s opening against against Mount St. Mary’s, she found the twine three times as Michigan rolled to a 16-0 victory to post the inaugural shutout in the history of the league championship.  Facing Bucknell in the title tilt, she factored in nearly half of the Maize & Blue’s goals with three goals and a pair of assists as Michigan picked up a 12-5 victory.  For her performance, she was recognized with All-Tournament Second Team recognition.
