BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Julia Sellers (Sr., Santa Ana, Calif./Foothill) of No. 7-ranked the University of Michigan posted 13 goals, two assists, four steals and a field block to lead the Maize & Blue to a 4-0 record versus ranked teams at home during the Wolverine Invitational.  For her performance, she claims accolades as the March 4 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Player of the Week.

A two-time weekly honor recipient in 2019 following CWPA Division I Defensive Player of the Week honors on January 21, Sellers factored in all four games for the Wolverines at Canham Natatorium.

On Saturday, March 2, she opened the invitational with a goal and a steal in a 10-5 defeat of No. 14 the University of California-San Diego prior to dominating No. 6 University of the Pacific for three goals and two steals in an 11-5 win.

Sellers closed out the weekend by accounting for nine of her team’s 36 goals on Sunday, March 3. 

Against No. 13 Fresno State University in the day’s opener, she found the back of the cage five times, dished out an assist and blocked a shot in a 20-8 win.  Facing No. 15 Long Beach State University, she added four goals with an assist, a steal and two drawn exclusions in a 16-9 victory.

In addition, she won six-of-seven sprint attempts on the weekend as Michigan moved to 12-7 on the season.
