BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Kata Utassy (Jr., Budapest, Hungary/Konyves Kalman Secondary School) notched six goals, nine assists and four steals for the No. 13-ranked Wolverines of the University of Michigan during a 2-1 weekend trip to New England.  For her performance, Utassy is named the April 3 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Player of the Week.

A three-time (March 1, April 12, April 26) CWPA Division I Rookie of the Week selection during the 2021 season, Utassy earns her third Player of the Week nod in 2023 after taking the January 16 and January 23 honors.

Competing at No. 14 Harvard University on Saturday, April 1, Utassy was not fooling in racking up three goals, four assists, an exclusion drawn and three steals as the Wolverines pounced on the host Crimson, 14-6.  Later in the day at No. 20 Brown University, she notched three assists as the Maize & Blue rolled to a 13-7 victory.  Facing the Bears, she collected her 100th point of the season in 25 games to mark the fewest number of games necessary in program history to reach the milestone.

Capping off the weekend versus No. 7 Princeton University at Brown on Sunday, April 2, she notched a goal, an assist and a steal as Michigan suffered an 11-9 setback against the Tigers.
