BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Kayla Barone (Sr., Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) of No. 7-ranked the University of Michigan posted three steals and an assist during a 10-4 loss to No. 3 the University of California at home in Canham Natatorium in 2022 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship quarterfinals action to claim status as the May 9 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Defensive Player of the Week.
The award marks the second weekly honor of the season for Barone who was previously named the January 24 CWPA Division I Player of the Week.
