BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Competing in her first intercollegiate games at No. 6-ranked the University of Michigan, Libby Alsemgeest (Fr., Hamilton, New Zealand/St. Cuthbert’s College) posted five goals and a team-high five drawn exclusions during a 4-0 weekend for the Wolverines at home during the Michigan Invitational.  For her inaugural performance, Alsemgeest earns status as the February 22 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Rookie of the Week.

She opened her collegiate career by tallying a goal, two steals and a pair of drawn exclusions in an 8-5 defeat of No. 13 Indiana University at home in Canham Natatorium on Saturday, February 20.  Later in the day, she aided Michigan’s cause in a 12-7 victory over Salem University.

On Sunday, February 21, she racked up a pair of goals with a drawn exclusion and a steal in a 13-2 non-conference handling of Saint Francis University.  Alsemgeest wrapped up the weekend by scoring twice and drawing a pair of exclusions in an 11-6 win versus Indiana.
